Vegetables worth cooking, every day of the week
Clean, fresh, unwaxed vegetables, sold loose so you buy the amount you want. A handful of mushrooms, three carrots or a sack of potatoes, it is all the same to us.
Vegetables at the shop
The veg display runs the full length of the shop front: potatoes of several kinds, carrots, parsnips, swede and beetroot, onions, shallots and garlic, leeks, cabbages, cauliflowers, broccoli and sprouts, squash and pumpkins in autumn, courgettes, aubergines, peppers and sweetcorn in summer, fresh herbs, chillies, ginger and mushrooms all year. We also bring in the things people ask for: purple and yellow cauliflowers, Romanesco, heritage carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, fresh peas and broad beans in their pods, kale, cavolo nero and chard. For a Sunday roast, a soup, a curry or a week of packed lunches, the right veg is here and someone who cooks will tell you what is good.

Vegetables: your questions
Do you sell loose vegetables?
Almost everything is sold loose by weight or by the piece, so you can buy exactly what you need with no plastic. Bring a bag or take one of ours.
Can you get something you do not usually stock?
Usually, yes, with a day or two of notice. We are at the wholesale market most mornings and can pick up most things that are in season somewhere.
Are your vegetables organic?
We sell conventionally grown produce chosen for freshness and flavour. If you want a specific organic line, ask and we will tell you honestly what we can get.
